Zendeh Del, one of the founding members at the firm is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas. The Western District of Texas spans approximately 91,000 square miles. The Western District is subdivided into seven divisions:

• Austin
• Del Rio
• El Paso
• Midland
• Pecos
• San Antonio
• Waco

According to the U.S. District Court, 32% of the cases filed in the Western District of Texas are from El Paso. Another 20% are filed in Del Rio. 17% are filed in San Antonio and %16 are filed in Austin. A relatively small number of cases are filed in Waco, Pecos and Midland. Over the past decade, the number of Western District of Texas case filings has increased steadily. In 2002, a total of 7,286 cases were filed. In 2011, the Western District of Texas handled a total of 10,718 cases. 3,228 of these cases were civil and 7,490 were criminal.

What Does It Take To Be Admitted?

In order to practice in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Texas, Mr. Zendeh demonstrated that he is licensed to practice by the highest court of the state. Additionally, he must be in good standing with the bar of the U.S. District Court. His admission demonstrates that he a high level of professional character and good professional character. Attorneys that are not already admitted to practice by the highest court in their state can still apply, but must obtain a license from the highest court of the state within one ear of their admission to practice in the Western District of Texas. In order to apply, attorneys must be able to demonstrate that they are in good standing. To do so they must provide a certificate of good standing from the U.S. District Court and the highest state court. Equivalent certification may be accepted, too. The certificate cannot be dated more than 60 days prior to the application date. Additionally, applicants must provide two letters of recommendation. These letters must come from lawyers who are admitted to practice. Additionally, recommendation letters must come from attorneys who are in good standing with the bar.

Divisional Committee On Admissions

In each of the seven divisions of the Western District of Texas, an admissions committee reviews applications. In order for an application to be accepted to the bar, the committee must review and accept it. Usually, the committee is comprised of at least five members and a committee chair. If needed, the committee will ask attorneys for additional information to make sure that they meet all application requirements. If the committee does not favorably recommend an application, the attorney may file a request for his/her application to be reviewed by the court.
